_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Name: La Llorona

Human name: AnaMarie (I know in the legends she was named maria but one of the main characters already is named that)

Gender: female

species: Undead lower class deity

role: warn others of danger/ impending tragedy, mourn those who passed.

Personality: acting: scary, intimidating.  real personality: timid, yet inviting. courteous, and polite.

Favorite food: Flan

Bio: she was a peasant girl who caught the eye of a higher class gentleman. both fell deeply in love and soon got married. her husband's father was displeased when his son bought the peasant girl home and was unsuccessful with trying to separate the two.soon a set of twin boys were born to the couple much to the displeasure of their grandfather. he often acted cold, and dismissive to the boys, and verbally criticized their poor mother. he never would physically hurt her out of fear of confrontation from his son. when the boys reached the age of ten, their grandfather became worried.he wanted his bloodline to remain pure, so he decided to rid himself of the boys.He lured the boys to join him for a walk my offering them sweets.they followed, happy their grandfather was finally showing them affection.however, he instead lured them to the river, and started his sinister plan to make it look like the boys accidently drowned while playing.

however, their mother came across the scene after a maid pointed out the direction the three set off at.with a horrified scream and wail she went into the river trying to stop the old man but she was too late.the old man let the two small forms go and she desperately swam after her two sons. the water got ruff and she ended up dying trying to save them. their bodies were never found nor properly buried.the old man returned and lied telling others the woman fled and took away his grand children. his son was devastated, believing him and the rest of the towns folk also believed him, cursing AnaMarie's name. Her husband remarried a woman of equally wealthy class and moved on.

soon,  a new rumor saying that AnaMarie MURDERED her own kids and took her own life in the river.the story eventually evolved into a horror story when folks began seeing a ghostly woman wailing at the side of the river and chasing those who come to close away screeching angrily "were are my babies!!??".  la muerte became aware of the lost soul and came to AnaMarie and offered to help her find the souls of her kids in the after life. Anxiously agreeing she followed only to find they were not in the land of the remembered. La Muerte then took her to the land of the forgotton were she learned from Xibalba her sons WERE there .however, due to not receiving a proper burial, and never being remembered of the day of the dead, they had long since turned to dust. In pity, La Muerte granted AnaMarie a chance to be a deity and to help others.

She gotten rid of her old name which has long since been falsely soiled, and donned the name given to her by humans, La Llorona. if children or any one are too close to any running water or other dangerous areas at night she will appear and scare them away.due to her Legend she has become like a bogeyman to kids which, she does not mind as it makes them heed her warning better.she also appears to those who will soon face death in a few days.however, again rather then see her as a warning people accuse her of causing death so folks warn to try to avoid going near rivers at night and to also ignore any wails you might hear. also, after a person dies she will wail for them.

also, those kids who tend to misbehave she will often scare straight to get them to be more respectful for their parents.:T

however, despite the fear humans have of her, she is in fact rather friendly. she lives in a home in the middle of a small isle surrounded by water at the very edges of the land of the remembered. when she does have visitors she welcomes them with refreshments and a timid smile.she does like company, but is nervous in crowds.wich is why she rarely comes to La Muerte's large parties and Feasts. and yes, she still missed her children but...she keeps doing her job for them.so no one else looses their kids. which is why she wails for those who did.
